The load centre of gravity is always exactly under the crane hook. If the load’s centre of gravity is off-centre, the spreader beam is inclined; in this case, an adjustable suspension should be selected. The spindle-adjustable version can be adjusted under load (note max. inclined slope), this solution saves time and is particularly safe. The available free lifting height should be used to a large extent. The greater the distance between the crane hook and the load’s centre of gravity, the lower the inclined position of the spreader beam, even if the load’s centre of gravity is off-centre. Choose the round sling or chain suspension here. According to EN 13155, an inclination under load of max. 6° is permissible.
Make use of the crane height: If the distance of the “crane hook to load centre of gravity” is doubled, the inclination is halved.
